I thought the Navy could do research missions at 5000 ft.
I guess if that was a possibility the Navy would have fixed the problem by now.
I believe reasonable people could agree that drilling at a depth where we can't repair a broken wellhead that is gushing hundreds of millions of gallons of oil into the waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Represents an unacceptable risk.
I believe drilling closer to shore were the technology exists to prevent this disaster that continues in the Gulf today is an acceptable risk.
I believe four dollar a gallon gasoline is coming back and I'm resolved to do everything I can in my personal life to reduce my need for gasoline. Natural gas conversion in this part of the country is reasonable and doable. Wind generators and solar panels to help offset my demand for electricity.
